Mezza Campagna Organic Market in Senigallia, Italy

Festival del gusto is all about getting small artisan Italian organic and biodynamic producers together to hold tastings, workshops and talks in a convivial setting and atmosphere, which also allows for some socialising at the same time as well.
The ethos of Festival del Gusto means that we also spend time on promoting and marketing the same artisan producers both in Italy and in the UK, through events, festivals and markets. So we are pleased that our good friend and associate Andrea Tomassetti has now been instrumental in the setting up of a new type of market in the beautiful Adriatic resort of Senigallia in the Le Marche region of Italy.
The market will focus on organic food, including olive oils, natural products, fruits and vegetables, marmalades and preserves, and will be open to all small organic local Marche producers who wish to take part. Link to their Facebook Page
The first of these innovative organic markets is to be held this Saturday just outside of the centro storico of Senigallia and close to the big UCI Cinema complex and Marco Polo shopping centre and will run from 10 am until 6pm.

This organic market is just another aspect of the work by committed producers and farmers who are trying to bring their superb produce to a wider public as well as a means of helping support small producers at this time of austerity in Italy and indeed throughout most of Europe.
The organic, biodynamic and natural movements have all suffered in recent years as the food buying public had less to spend each month, but it is hoped that this trend can and will be reversed through the setting up of real local markets such as this one in Senigallia.
We are sure that this will be the start of a successful summer for all involved with the Mezza Campagna market and we at Festival del gusto will be keen supporters of this initiative and other similar projects as they unfold in the future.

Malta Food Event in December

Festivaldelgusto are very pleased to be working on an exciting new event in Malta this December held together with MCA , the Mediterranean Culinary Academy and several Slow Food groups from Italy and other Mediterranean countries. We have been planning to hold an organic and sustainable food event in Valletta the capital of Malta since the Slow Food Mediterranean conference in Valletta last October. The event will mainly be aimed toward promoting small artisan producers from around the Mediterranean region as well as representatives from many of the countries taking part. During the day there will be a series of workshops, talks and pop up street food stands as well as a dedicated kitchen where chefs can prepare dishes which are typical of their home countries. It is hoped that the event can be held outside in the streets close to the beautiful Hastings Gardens, but if this is not possible because of the weather in December then it will be relocated to an indoor venue in another part

Festivaldelgusto at Gusto Italia

Festivaldelgusto are very pleased to be one of the participants with Slow Food Anglia at the prestigious Italian food and drink event, the   Gusto Italia  which is held on November 7th and 8th at the Sheraton Hotel, Park Lane in central London. As part of our ongoing commitment to our friends and clients in Italy we are attending the event to build on the very close links we now have with Sicilian and mainland Italian olive oil producers, chefs and artisan food businesses. We will also strengthen our ties that we now have built up with Olivaverde, Slow Food Anglia, Slow Food Sicilia and Slow Food groups in Italy. Carmelo Carnevale the Sicilian chef who is responsible for organising Gusto Italia has personally invited Slow Food Anglia members and they have included us in their stand at the event. Carmelo came to Norwich to take part in our joint Festivaldelgusto and Slow Food Anglia festival we held there in August and he also met with our partners at Olivaverde at that event and sam
