Malta Food Event in December

Festivaldelgusto are very pleased to be working on an exciting new event in Malta this December held together with MCA , the Mediterranean Culinary Academy and several Slow Food groups from Italy and other Mediterranean countries. We have been planning to hold an organic and sustainable food event in Valletta the capital of Malta since the Slow Food Mediterranean conference in Valletta last October. The event will mainly be aimed toward promoting small artisan producers from around the Mediterranean region as well as representatives from many of the countries taking part. During the day there will be a series of workshops, talks and pop up street food stands as well as a dedicated kitchen where chefs can prepare dishes which are typical of their home countries. It is hoped that the event can be held outside in the streets close to the beautiful Hastings Gardens, but if this is not possible because of the weather in December then it will be relocated to an indoor venue in another part...

Norwich Christmas event

Norwich is a city which has seen a dramatic increase in interest in local food culture over the past five years and seems to have new restaurants, bars and cafes opening every month and an explosion of interest in good, sustainably sourced food and drink. We are pleased to be involved with several small local food and drink businesses who have plans to hold food festivals and food related events across the city this December and in 2017, one of these is the local street food group, Feast on the Street who will be holding an Christmas festival at the Shoe factory Social club on the 10th December. The festival at the old Shoe Factory will be the first collaboration between Feast on the Street, Slow Food Norwich and us at Festivaldelgusto, Feast on the Street are a small group of fifteen independent street food traders based in Norwich and in north Norfolk. The venue where the festival is being held is a fantastic old factory and a warehouse near the centre of Norwich and unfortunately...

Festivaldelgusto at Gusto Italia

Festivaldelgusto are very pleased to be one of the participants with Slow Food Anglia at the prestigious Italian food and drink event, the   Gusto Italia  which is held on November 7th and 8th at the Sheraton Hotel, Park Lane in central London. As part of our ongoing commitment to our friends and clients in Italy we are attending the event to build on the very close links we now have with Sicilian and mainland Italian olive oil producers, chefs and artisan food businesses. We will also strengthen our ties that we now have built up with Olivaverde, Slow Food Anglia, Slow Food Sicilia and Slow Food groups in Italy. Carmelo Carnevale the Sicilian chef who is responsible for organising Gusto Italia has personally invited Slow Food Anglia members and they have included us in their stand at the event. Carmelo came to Norwich to take part in our joint Festivaldelgusto and Slow Food Anglia festival we held there in August and he also met with our partners at Olivaverde at that even...

Festivaldelgusto with Olivaverde

Festivaldelgusto will be working closely with the olive oil group Olivaverde at the new and exciting Breks Food festival in Norfolk this September. Both groups have been involved with food, drink and lifestyle festivals in London and the east of England for many years and we are looking forward to our joint cooperating with the new Breks Food festival to be held at the Fire Pit near Swaffham in September which is being held in conjunction with the annual Slow Food festival that has been held at the Fire Pit Camp over the past three years. One of the main aims of both Festivaldelgusto and Olivaverde is to be involved with local communities and events in areas in which we promote our fine artisan produced olive oils so we are very pleased to be involved with the Breks food festival for the first time. Festivaldelgusto normally are focused on events in Italy and the Mediterranean region but are pleased to be part of the Breks festival this year. The Fire Pit Camp...

Festivaldelgusto in Monterado and London

The Festivaldelgusto later this month will be held again at the beautiful Castello di Monterado in the Le Marche region of Italy. We are very pleased to be holding this prestigious event again in this beautiful castle in the village of Monterado in the Le Marche region of eastern Italy and there are plans to hold other similar events there in the future. This year the Festivaldelgusto will be held on Sunday 27th September and there will be many new Marchigiani producers present this year in addition to many of the artisan food and drink producers who were present at the event last year. The Festival in 2014 attracted many of the best local food and wine producers from the northern and central provinces of the Marche region, and we are pleased that this year we will also have several producers from the south of Marche. New producers this year will include Oleificio Silvestri Rosina  an organic olive oil producers from Spinetoli in the south of the Marche region and a local co oper...

Festivaldelgusto and Slow Food

Festivaldelgusto works closely with many food and drink producers both in Italy and also in the UK with the aim of  promoting them and their produce to a wider public and as part of this activity we now also cooperate closely with the International Slow Food organisation in both these countries. We are pleased that at the next Festivaldelgusto in Le Marche, Italy on Septmber 27th that as well as having over twenty wine and food producers present we will also have Slow Food Marche, Slow Food Ancona and Conero, Slow Food Anglia from the UK and hopefully Slow food Holland take part. Slow Food Marche has established close links to Slow Food Anglia as they both contain large fishing communities within the regions they represent and Festivaldelgusto is part of the structure they will use to hold tours, events and workshops in their respective countries. Festivaldelgusto is also one of the main supporters of Slow Food Anglia events which they hold throughout the east of England in the...

Festivaldelgusto September 2014

This year the Festivaldelgusto was again held in the Le Marche region of eastern Italy, this time at the historic venue of the Castello de Monterado near the beautiful Adriatic resort of Senigallia. We were determined to build on the success of the first Festival in Italy in 2013 so this year we decided to hold the event at the Castello as we knew this beautiful venue well and were also encouraged and supported by the enthusiasm of the owner Orlando Rodano to hold our event there. The Castello di Monterado is a perfect place to hold events and is a stunning venue situated in the small village of Monterado which was founded in 1267, it is about 15 km from the Adriatic coast and the beautiful seaside resort town of Senigallia. The weather in Italy this year has not been very good with storms, a great deal of rain and high winds on and off over the spring and summer, indeed only a few days before the event there were very high winds and storms on the coast which had done a lot of damage...

Olive oils schools in the Mediterranean

Festivaldelgusto along with their partner  Olivaverde  are always interested in promoting small food, wine and olive oil producers from the Mediterranean region and are pleased that in 2014 we are launching a series of dedicated olive oil schools in Italy and the Islands of Malta and Gozo. The "schools" will include workshops where there will be an olive oil producer teaching clients about all the stages of  the cultivation and production of fine extra, from the harvesting of the olives right through to the bottling and marketing of the oils. Other classes will include talks and demonstrations by actual olive oil producers and tasting experts where our clients will learn the techniques of tasting olive oils from different regions of Italy and also from the Island of Malta. Clients will also visit the olive groves and mills where the olive oils we feature are produced to see how the different olive oils are made, where possible all the olive oils used and promoted in our...

Festivaldelgusto Norfolk

Our aim at Festivaldelgusto  is to assist clients and friends who wish to hold artisan food festivals and fairs both in Italy, Malta and also in the UK, and we are now pleased to be planning with two of our friends to hold two events in Norfolk in the spring and summer of 2014. We are also in the early stages of planning several festival events in Italy next year, one will be held in Le Marche and possibly two others in the Italian regions of Puglia and also Sicily, these will be in addition to our planned event in Malta next May. At one of our UK events we will be helping the owners of a popular restaurant with a large market and food fair near the Norfolk town of Swaffham, this will be held on Saturday 19th April over the Easter holiday period. The event will be on land near the main restaurant building which is located near the main road from Thetford and London to the North Norfolk coast which is a popular route with many travelling from London for holidays in Norfolk. Festivaldelgusto events

We at Festivaldelgusto were very pleased with our first festival in Le Marche last month and we do hope to hold another in that particular region of Italy at the same time next year. We will now be looking to attract a much larger audience for our chosen producers and suppliers and it is hoped that all the producers who took part in our popular Festival this year will also be available to take part in 2014. Our friends and contacts in Le Marche helped make our first Italian festival a great success and we hope that all who took part found the event a very useful business opportunity, we also know that several of the producers have gained orders from some of the trade buyers who were present. We are now looking at opportunities to hold similar Festivals  in other regions of central and southern Italy and have been approached by several business contacts both in Umbria, Tuscany and more recently Puglia. The beautiful Italian region of Puglia is one of the most attractive and intere...

Festivaldelgusto evening in Senigallia

We held our first Festivaldelgusto  in the Marche region of eastern Italy last Saturday evening and were really pleased that this "taster" event proved so popular both with the invited local producers and also the guests. The setting for the festival was the country house hotel and agriturismo, the Locanda Strada della Marina near the village of Scapezzano close to the Adriatic coast and the resort of Senigallia and the weather proved perfect for this prestigious outside event. Many months of planning had gone into arranging the event and much of the work had been carried out by Silvia Venturini and Andrea Tomassetti in order to bring together a wide range of local Marchigiani producers of wines, olive oils and other specialist foods such as honeys, chocolate, jams and liquers and artisan breads. We were also very grateful to Stefania of the Locanda Strada della Marina for allowing us to hold our first festival at such a lovely venue and in such beautiful surroundings in t...

Festival del Gusto in Senigallia this September

The Festival del Gusto events are primarily a celebration of small ethical producers of food, wine and olive oil producers in Italy, Malta and also the UK. These events aim to bring together producers, consumers and also trade representatives in an informal atmosphere to network and learn more about the produce that is available from them.  The initial Festival on September 14th to be held at the Locanda Strada della Marina  near the Adriatic resort of Senigallia will be a unique occasion to meet small artisan producers from the Le Marche region of eastern Italy and to taste some typical food, wine and olive oil from this very beautiful and unspoilt part of Italy. The Senigallia Festival will be a "taster event" and will be the first of a series of similar events to be held in Italy, Malta and the UK in 2014. The other Festivals will include an event in Cortona,Tuscany, one near Norwich in Norfolk this November and another in Valletta, Malta next May. Slow Food Norw...
