Festival del Gusto

Festivaldelgusto are very pleased to be working on an exciting new event in Malta this December held together with MCA , the Mediterranean Culinary Academy and several Slow Food groups from Italy and other Mediterranean countries. We have been planning to hold an organic and sustainable food event in Valletta the capital of Malta since the Slow Food Mediterranean conference in Valletta last October. The event will mainly be aimed toward promoting small artisan producers from around the Mediterranean region as well as representatives from many of the countries taking part. During the day there will be a series of workshops, talks and pop up street food stands as well as a dedicated kitchen where chefs can prepare dishes which are typical of their home countries. It is hoped that the event can be held outside in the streets close to the beautiful Hastings Gardens, but if this is not possible because of the weather in December then it will be relocated to an indoor venue in another part...

Holkham Hall Estate is a beautiful stately home owned by the Coke Family, Lord and Lady Leicester and is set in over 23,000 acres of land near the north Norfolk coast and has over 300 staff, a large organic farm with numerous residential properties and also the world famous Holkham Beach  which has featured in many well known films over the past few years. Slow Food Anglia part of Slow food International approached us at Festivaldelgusto last year to ask if we were able to help with the organisation and logistics of this important food festival, as it is expected that over 3,000 visitors will come to the days festival and over 150 to the evening Italian Sagra styled meal. Norwich is a city which has seen a dramatic increase in interest in local food culture over the past five years and seems to have new restaurants, bars and cafes opening every month and an explosion of interest in good, sustainably sourced food and drink. We are pleased to be involved with several small local food and drink businesses who have plans to hold food festivals and food related events across the city this December and in 2017, one of these is the local street food group, Feast on the Street who will be holding an Christmas festival at the Shoe factory Social club on the 10th December. The festival at the old Shoe Factory will be the first collaboration between Feast on the Street, Slow Food Norwich and us at Festivaldelgusto, Feast on the Street are a small group of fifteen independent street food traders based in Norwich and in north Norfolk. Festivaldelgusto are very pleased to be one of the participants with Slow Food Anglia at the prestigious Italian food and drink event, the   Gusto Italia  which is held on November 7th and 8th at the Sheraton Hotel, Park Lane in central London. As part of our ongoing commitment to our friends and clients in Italy we are attending the event to build on the very close links we now have with Sicilian and mainland Italian olive oil producers, chefs and artisan food businesses. We will also strengthen our ties that we now have built up with Olivaverde, Slow Food Anglia, Slow Food Sicilia and Slow Food groups in Italy. Carmelo Carnevale the Sicilian chef who is responsible for organising Gusto Italia has personally invited Slow Food Anglia members and they have included us in their stand at the event. Festivaldelgusto will be working closely with the olive oil group Olivaverde at the new and exciting Breks Food festival in Norfolk this September. Both groups have been involved with food, drink and lifestyle festivals in London and the east of England for many years and we are looking forward to our joint cooperating with the new Breks Food festival to be held at the Fire Pit near Swaffham in September which is being held in conjunction with the annual Slow Food festival that has been held at the Fire Pit Camp over the past three years. One of the main aims of both Festivaldelgusto and Olivaverde is to be involved with local communities and events in areas in which we promote our fine artisan produced olive oils so we are very pleased to be involved with the Breks food festival for the first time. We will be working with  Slow Food Norwich ,  Slow Food Anglia and Norwich City Council on the first Slow Food artisan food and life festival to be held in the city of Norwich in August 2016, this is now planned to be an annual event and we are all very pleased to have such great support from the city council in the beautiful historic city. Slow Food Norwich was set up in Norwich in 2009 by people interested in promoting good, clean fair food in the city and also in the county of Norfolk, Slow Food Anglia was established in 2015 and is now the regional entity which helps set up new groups and also promotes and supports all the established groups across East Anglia. The Festivaldelgusto later this month will be held again at the beautiful Castello di Monterado in the Le Marche region of Italy. We are very pleased to be holding this prestigious event again in this beautiful castle in the village of Monterado in the Le Marche region of eastern Italy and there are plans to hold other similar events there in the future. This year the Festivaldelgusto will be held on Sunday 27th September and there will be many new Marchigiani producers present this year in addition to many of the artisan food and drink producers who were present at the event last year. The Festival in 2014 attracted many of the best local food and wine producers from the northern and central provinces of the Marche region, and we are pleased that this year we will also have several producers from the south of Marche. Festivaldelgusto are pleased to be associated with the first Slow Food Anglia seafood festival to be held in Colchester, Essex on the 5th and 6th September. This festival will aim to promote Slow Food in the east of England to a wider public and also attract new members to the organisation in this part of England which currently does not have a local group. The event will be run in partnership with Food and Drink Festivals UK which is based in Colchester and has many years of experience organising festivals in the east of England and other parts of the country. Festivaldelgusto holds its premier food and drink festival in Italy each September at which small Italian artisan producers showcase their produce to visitors both from Italy and other parts of the world including the UK, Holland, Germany, the USA, Canada and Australia, and in the coming years will also be concentrating on food related events in Malta and London. Festivaldelgusto works closely with many food and drink producers both in Italy and also in the UK with the aim of  promoting them and their produce to a wider public and as part of this activity we now also cooperate closely with the International Slow Food organisation in both these countries. We are pleased that at the next Festivaldelgusto in Le Marche, Italy on Septmber 27th that as well as having over twenty wine and food producers present we will also have Slow Food Marche, Slow Food Ancona and Conero, Slow Food Anglia from the UK and hopefully Slow food Holland take part. Slow Food Marche has established close links to Slow Food Anglia as they both contain large fishing communities within the regions they represent and Festivaldelgusto is part of the structure they will use to hold tours, events and workshops in their respective countries. Last year was the first time that this popular event had been held in Monterado and the owner had asked us if it was possible to hold this years Festival there once again and we are now very happy to be based once again at this beautiful castle in the Le Marche region of Italy. This year the Festivaldelgusto was again held in the Le Marche region of eastern Italy, this time at the historic venue of the Castello de Monterado near the beautiful Adriatic resort of Senigallia. We were determined to build on the success of the first Festival in Italy in 2013 so this year we decided to hold the event at the Castello as we knew this beautiful venue well and were also encouraged and supported by the enthusiasm of the owner Orlando Rodano to hold our event there. The Castello di Monterado is a perfect place to hold events and is a stunning venue situated in the small village of Monterado which was founded in 1267, it is about 15 km from the Adriatic coast and the beautiful seaside resort town of Senigallia. The weather in Italy this year has not been very good with storms, a great deal of rain and high winds on and off over the spring and summer, indeed only a few days before the event there were very high winds and storms on the coast which had done a lot of damage...

We are very pleased that the Festivaldelgusto at the Castello di Monterado in Le Marche this coming September has proved so popular with both the local Marchgiani producers and also with our many overseas guests this year. We now have our maximum of fourteen local artisan producers and unfortunately we have had to turn down some fantastic local producers as we are fully booked for space, but next year we are planning that we will be able to have up to twenty five artisan producers at this prestigious event in Le Marche. This year the Festival organisers had the choice of several excellent venues where they could hold the event but it was decided to hold it again in the Ancona province of Le Marche, and we were pleased that with the help and encouragement of the owner of the Castello di Monterado that we were able to base this years Festival at this beautiful historic castle in the village of Monterado near the Adriatic resort of Senigallia. The plans for the second Festivaldelgusto that is being held in Senigallia, Italy this September and also the planned Festival in Malta in co operation with  Malta Sunripe  are well advanced and we are pleased that as well as these two exciting events we are now working closely with  Olivaverde  and Slow Food in England to hold several small promotional events in London and the south east of England this summer and autumn. The UK based events will take place at venues mainly located in London but we hope to also hold one promotional event at the famous and iconic Forum  building in the city of Norwich in East Anglia. We are very pleased to be holding this years Festivaldelgusto at the Castello di Monterado in the Marche region of Italy, and we are now planning for other food and wine events and also tours to be held at this beautiful venue in the future. The Castello di Monterado is an absolutely stunning venue situated in the small village of Monterado in central Marche which was founded in 1267, it is about 15 km from the Adriatic coast and the beautiful seaside resort town of Senigallia. The present building dates back to the early 1700's and was designed by architect Luigi Vanvitelli, but is close to an ancient church which was part of a Hermitage which dates from the year one thousand. It has a long and varied history belonging to many noble families over the centuries and was badly damaged in the second World war by bombing, but the present family have undertaken a long and detailed restoration of the main Castello building. The team at Festivaldelgusto are have started the planning on the next Festival in the Le Marche region of Italy for September 2014. This years event will be held on Saturday 27th September at the Castello di Monterado  and followed on the Sunday morning by one of our popular "pop up" olive oil schools with lunch and music in the afternoon at one our of oil producers olive groves. The festival will start in late afternoon on the Saturday as in previous years, with talks and workshops from the wine, olive oil and food producers present, this followed by a meal which is prepared only from the produce that has been supplied by the producers at the event. On the Sunday morning there will be a workshop and talks given by one of the olive oil producers who had attended the previous days event, this will last most of the morning with a tasting of several types of olive oil, including single variety, organic and biodynamic.
