Malta Food Event in December

Festivaldelgusto are very pleased to be working on an exciting new event in Malta this December held together with MCA, the Mediterranean Culinary Academy and several Slow Food groups from Italy and other Mediterranean countries. We have been planning to hold an organic and sustainable food event in Valletta the capital of Malta since the Slow Food Mediterranean conference in Valletta last October.
The event will mainly be aimed toward promoting small artisan producers from around the Mediterranean region as well as representatives from many of the countries taking part. During the day there will be a series of workshops, talks and pop up street food stands as well as a dedicated kitchen where chefs can prepare dishes which are typical of their home countries.
It is hoped that the event can be held outside in the streets close to the beautiful Hastings Gardens, but if this is not possible because of the weather in December then it will be relocated to an indoor venue in another part of Valletta.

Working closely with both local Maltese groups and also producers and contacts from across the Mediterranean is a very important step for us at Festivaldelgusto, it allows us to widen our experience in events that are held held by us in only in Italy and the UK.
We are pleased that there is so much enthusiasm and support from local Maltese groups for this first dedicated pan Mediterranean event on Malta, nothing like this has ever been held on the Island before and everyone taking part wants this to be the first of many similar events to be held in Valletta and also other parts of Malta over the coming years.
The December event will also be used to promote the opening of the MCA to students and also the artisan food festival to be held in Hastings Gardens in Valletta in July 2018.

Festivaldelgusto are also working with the Italian based Olivaverde group to help set up a dedicated permanent Mediterranean olive oil school and academy in Malta, which will aim to attract students from across the globe as there is much interest in the school idea from the US, Australia, China and Korea, as well as Europe.
There will be visiting experts coming to lecture and give hands on advice on all aspects of olive oil production from Italy, Malta and other countries taking part and we believe that the school will become a centre of excellence on olive oil matters over the next few years.
The Mediterranean olive oil school should be up and running in early 2018 and we have already had much interest and have taken provisional bookings from various individuals and groups.

Festivaldelgusto at Gusto Italia

Festivaldelgusto are very pleased to be one of the participants with Slow Food Anglia at the prestigious Italian food and drink event, the   Gusto Italia  which is held on November 7th and 8th at the Sheraton Hotel, Park Lane in central London. As part of our ongoing commitment to our friends and clients in Italy we are attending the event to build on the very close links we now have with Sicilian and mainland Italian olive oil producers, chefs and artisan food businesses. We will also strengthen our ties that we now have built up with Olivaverde, Slow Food Anglia, Slow Food Sicilia and Slow Food groups in Italy. Carmelo Carnevale the Sicilian chef who is responsible for organising Gusto Italia has personally invited Slow Food Anglia members and they have included us in their stand at the event. Carmelo came to Norwich to take part in our joint Festivaldelgusto and Slow Food Anglia festival we held there in August and he also met with our partners at Olivaverde at that event and sam
