Slow Food supporters of Festivaldelgusto

As well the many small producers and food related businesses taking part in the first Festivaldelgusto we are also pleased to have the support of other interested groups and organisations including two very proactive and well known Slow Food groups from the UK, Slow Food Norwich and Slow Food London
Slow Food London currently is the only campaigning Slow Food body in the UK and actively responds to every European and national consultation on food and agriculture. Slow Food Norwich also campaigns for good local foods and much of its time is spent in promoting small local producers and also retailers in north Norfolk but it is hoped that a much larger area to include much of East Anglia will be covered by this very proactive group in 2014.
Slow Food London has recently embarked on a series of new initiatives with a busy schedule of events, talks and projects in and around the London area, these include a new accreditation scheme for outstanding food businesses, and partnerships with other related organisations such as the UK Biodynamic association.
Slow Food Norwich have a long history of being active in supporting and promoting small artisan food producers and also local food retailers, which has led them to be involved in sponsoring the first Festivaldelgusto in Marche Italy, but also in organising a similar event in the UK later in 2013 and also in the summer of 2014.

Slow Food was founded in Italy in 1986 by Carlo Petrini as an alternative to fast food and it strives to preserve regional and local cuisine and traditional methods of farming which are involved in the supporting and preserving the local ecosystem.
Both these UK groups are part of the wider Slow Food International movement which has its headquarters in Italy and it is hoped that members of Slow Food Marche and also Slow Food Senigallia will also be attending the Festival and that closer relationships will be formed between all four Slow Food groups.
We at Festivaldelgusto are pleased to have the support and sponsorship of both these important Slow Food bodies in the UK and that several members of both Slow Food Norwich and also Slow Food London will be present at our first event on September 14th in Senigallia.
Further details about the festival events that will be held in the UK in 2014 with the help of Slow Food in Norwich and London together with other food related organisations will be available in late September after the initial event has been held in Senigallia, Italy.

Malta Food Event in December

Festivaldelgusto are very pleased to be working on an exciting new event in Malta this December held together with MCA , the Mediterranean Culinary Academy and several Slow Food groups from Italy and other Mediterranean countries. We have been planning to hold an organic and sustainable food event in Valletta the capital of Malta since the Slow Food Mediterranean conference in Valletta last October. The event will mainly be aimed toward promoting small artisan producers from around the Mediterranean region as well as representatives from many of the countries taking part. During the day there will be a series of workshops, talks and pop up street food stands as well as a dedicated kitchen where chefs can prepare dishes which are typical of their home countries. It is hoped that the event can be held outside in the streets close to the beautiful Hastings Gardens, but if this is not possible because of the weather in December then it will be relocated to an indoor venue in another part

Festivaldelgusto at Gusto Italia

Festivaldelgusto are very pleased to be one of the participants with Slow Food Anglia at the prestigious Italian food and drink event, the   Gusto Italia  which is held on November 7th and 8th at the Sheraton Hotel, Park Lane in central London. As part of our ongoing commitment to our friends and clients in Italy we are attending the event to build on the very close links we now have with Sicilian and mainland Italian olive oil producers, chefs and artisan food businesses. We will also strengthen our ties that we now have built up with Olivaverde, Slow Food Anglia, Slow Food Sicilia and Slow Food groups in Italy. Carmelo Carnevale the Sicilian chef who is responsible for organising Gusto Italia has personally invited Slow Food Anglia members and they have included us in their stand at the event. Carmelo came to Norwich to take part in our joint Festivaldelgusto and Slow Food Anglia festival we held there in August and he also met with our partners at Olivaverde at that event and sam
